Military buildup of National Guard highlighted at parade
The October parade on October 1st had special political and military significance with the presentation of weapons that modernize the National Guard. Comparable parades last took place in the 1990s and early 2000s, when Cyprus sent political messages to domestic and international audiences through military deployments.
