Monks' appeal rejected in fraud case
The Criminal Court in Nicosia rejected on Monday an appeal by lawyers of two accused monks in a case involving alleged financial fraud at the Avakoum Monastery. Monks Nektarios and Porfyrios are charged with, among other things, conspiracy to defraud, forgery of documents, theft, and money laundering. The proceedings continue.
