Mount Everest: Mountain Guide Charged with Poisoning Climbers
Authorities in Nepal are investigating a major fraud network that allegedly targeted foreign climbers on Mount Everest. Investigators accuse some mountain guides of intentionally poisoning climbers to force expensive helicopter rescue missions and profit from them. The investigation led by Nepalese police has so far resulted in 32 charges and at least 11 arrests.
