Multiple emergencies due to severe weather: Forest fires and sea rescue
Cyprus was hit by extreme weather conditions on Saturday. A forest fire in the Limassol region was triggered by a lightning strike and required the deployment of over 13 emergency personnel. In parallel, a dramatic rescue operation took place off Cape Greco, where three boats got into distress in rough seas. A total of five people were successfully rescued after two ships sank.
