Municipal Labor Action: Limassol Demands Higher State Funding
Limassol municipality employees conducted a three-hour strike on August 3 to demand higher state funding for municipal administrations. While the Interior Ministry announced an increase in state funds by 39 million euros, the strike took place nonetheless. Interior Minister Konstantinos Ioannou rejected criticism from the Union of Cypriot Municipalities and emphasized that the funding level had already been agreed with the previous government.
