National Guard Remains Cyprus's Primary Deterrent
Defense Minister Vasilis Palmas emphasized during the swearing-in ceremony of new non-commissioned officers of the National Guard that Cyprus's armed forces represent the country's primary deterrent against external threats and defenders of the nation's freedom and democracy. The ceremony for the 2026 class took place at the Stylianos Kalbourtzis camp.
