Neolithic Period in Greece Began Earlier Than Previously Assumed
Archaeological findings indicate that the Neolithic period in Greece began as early as the 11th millennium BC, significantly earlier than previously thought. Communities in the Aegean began to alter their relationship with nature through experiments and adaptation at the end of the last ice age. Discoveries from Franchthi Cave and other archaeological sites such as the Klissoura 1 and Kalamakia caves provide evidence of these early human activities.
