Netanyahu Criticizes Erdogan in UN Speech as Tyrant and Illegal Occupier
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu used his speech before the UN General Assembly on September 24 to sharply criticize Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Netanyahu accused Erdogan of illegally occupying Northern Cyprus and inciting antisemitism, calling him a "tyrant." During his speech, Netanyahu also staged a dramatic presentation in which he showed exploded Hezbollah pagers. His remarks were protested by numerous delegations through walkouts.
