New Fisheries Regulation: Up to 20,000 Euro Fine for Violations
The amended fisheries regulations 2026 have come into force. The Ministry for Fisheries and Marine Research warns that violations are considered criminal offenses and are punishable by fines of up to 20,000 euros or prison sentences of up to one year. The regulations were passed by parliament and published in the official gazette of the republic.
