New fraud wave with fake SMS about fines
Cyprus police warn of an ongoing fraud wave involving false text messages about allegedly required fine payments. A 37-year-old woman fell victim to the scam on Tuesday and lost 2,000 euros when she was supposed to pay 60 euros for a traffic violation. Police are calling on the public to exercise caution.
