New Guidelines for Protection of Public Officials
Cyprus will introduce a new police protection system for politicians and state officials starting in September, to be evaluated exclusively by the police. All existing protective measures will be reassessed and adjusted, and protection teams will be withdrawn if the threat is not documented. Reassessment will occur regularly every six months.
