New Kavafis Statue on Dionysiou Areopagitou Street in Athens
The Onassis Foundation handed over a new sculpture of Alexandrian poet Constantine Kavafis to the Athens Municipal Council. The statue, created by sculptor Praxiteles Tzanoulinou, was placed on the pedestrian zone Dionysiou Areopagitou and allows visitors to sit beside the literary monument, creating a unique art experience in public space.
