New Law Expands Powers of Security Personnel
An amendment law by the Justice Ministry expands the rights and equipment of security forces in public buildings and state institutions. Security staff may now use bulletproof vests, protective helmets, and explosive detection dogs as well as conduct searches. The law also defines new penalties for violations.
