New Prison: Construction Start Targeted Before End of 2027
Justice Minister Costas Fytiris announced that the final decision on the location of the new central prison will be made after completion of a master plan. The abandoned village of Agios Sozomenos in the Nicosia district is currently considered the most likely location. The minister aims for construction to begin before the end of 2027. Three sites are currently being examined.
