New UNFICYP Commander: Brigadier Mohammad Minhasoul Alam
UN Secretary-General António Guterres announced the appointment of Brigadier Mohammad Assadullah Minhasoul Alam as the new commander of the UN peacekeeping force in Cyprus (UNFICYP). Alam succeeds Brigadier Ermenbert Batsuuri from Mongolia. The Secretary-General commended his predecessor's dedication.
