NHTSA Approves Amazon Zoox Driverless Robot-Taxis
Amazon subsidiary Zoox received approval on Thursday from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for limited commercial operation of autonomous robot-taxis without steering wheels and pedals. This is the first such regulatory exemption and marks a turning point for the autonomous transportation industry.
