Nine EU Countries Delay Biometric Border Control System
Nine European countries, including France, Greece, Italy, and others, have not completed full implementation of the new EU border control system with biometric data for non-EU travelers despite the September 6 deadline. The countries have requested additional time to fully operationalize the system at airports and border crossings.
