Northern Cyprus cuts cost-of-living allowance by decree
The government coalition in Northern Cyprus has decreed that public sector employees will not receive a cost-of-living allowance again until next year at the earliest. This happened just hours after a corresponding bill failed in parliament. The coalition thus bypassed parliament to implement the austerity measure.
