'Olguin Plan' intended to recognize Turkish occupation and suspend Cyprus
The British newspaper Independent reported on July 13, 2026, details of a new solution plan for the Cyprus issue that differs significantly from previous ones. Journalist David Maddox wrote that the project provides for recognition of Turkish occupation and de facto dissolution of the Republic of Cyprus, while a UN envoy had denied this.
