One in Five Europeans Lives in Poverty - During Cyprus Presidency
According to Cypriot Social Welfare Minister Clea Hadjistefanou-Papaellina, approximately 20 percent of Europeans live in poverty, and among children this figure reaches 25 percent. Cyprus is using its EU Council Presidency to promote stronger European social policy. The country's initiative aims for a more inclusive European social model.
