One in six Cypriots threatened by poverty or social exclusion
According to Eurostat data from Thursday, approximately 17.1 percent of the Cypriot population was threatened by poverty or social exclusion in 2025, totaling about 167,000 people. The share remained unchanged compared to 2024, but the absolute number increased by about 3,000 persons, which reflects population changes rather than deteriorated conditions.
