Oxford Mathematician Challenges 2000-Year-Old Parthenon Theory
British mathematician Alan Gorièle from the University of Oxford questions the widespread theory that the famous curves of the Parthenon were designed to correct optical illusions. Using mathematical models, he re-examined classical architectural theories and reached different conclusions from the previous 2000-year-old scientific tradition.
