Paphos prepares for Easter fires as police increase presence
Communities in the Paphos district are preparing for the traditional Easter fires (Lambradjia), which are lit in the church on the night of Easter Sunday and symbolize light against darkness and the resurrection of Christ. Police simultaneously continue their increased surveillance to prevent illegal fires outside churches.
