Parent names on biometric ID documents become optional
The Ministry of Interior announced that parent names on Cyprus's new biometric ID cards will become optional. Citizens can choose whether to receive a version with or without parent names. This regulation follows a European Commission directive that permits the issuance of different ID card variants in the same country.
