Parliament Pressures Foreclosure Laws Before Dissolution
President Nikos Christodoulides rejected five foreclosure laws submitted to parliament, arguing they are unconstitutional, legally unclear, and could negatively affect the economy and banking system. The laws were passed in hasty voting on April 6, and the parliament's financial committee must now quickly reconvene to revise them before parliament dissolves.
