Parliament tightens penalties for illegal taxi services
The Cypriot Parliament unanimously passed an amendment to traffic regulations legislation that introduces stricter penalties and increased administrative sanctions against illegal taxi services. The law is based on a proposal by Nicosia MP Alekos Tryphonidis and aims to more effectively combat the problem of so-called "pirate taxis."
