Parliamentary Report Criticizes Disaster Management of 2025 Fires
A 46-page report from parliamentary committees on Interior, Agriculture and Environment documents serious deficiencies in the forest fires of July 23, 2025 in the mountain regions of Limassol and Paphos, which killed two people and burned 120 square kilometers. The report criticizes Foreign Minister Panagiotu, police and the coordinator for faulty measures, operational deficiencies and lack of coordination. The first response came after 15 minutes, not six minutes as authorities originally claimed.
