Payment fraud in Cyprus increased by 16% – €3.7 million in damages
The value of fraudulent payments in Cyprus rose by 16 percent in the second half of 2025 to nearly €3.7 million, while the number of fraud cases fell by 5 percent to approximately 14,000. This is according to data from the Central Bank of Cyprus. Despite the increase in value, payment fraud in Cyprus remains relatively low in European comparison.
