Pension reform in Cyprus: Minister pushes for implementation
Pension reform in Cyprus is happening for the first time in 46 years. Labor and Social Insurance Minister Marinos Moushouttas will bring the first pension reform law to parliament, even without complete agreement with social partners and regardless of progress on the second pension pillar (pension funds). The minister proposes a gradual increase in pensions over five years. Conditions and pressure on the pension system have shifted significantly.
