Pensioner associations criticize exclusion of over 100,000 needy people
The pensioner union Ekysy criticized the government decision to pay Easter assistance of 250 euros to only 10,000 needy retirees as a "deliberate exclusion" of over 100,000 poor pensioners living below the poverty line. The association views the measure as insufficient given the actual number of elderly people in need.
