Police Overwhelmed by Anonymous Online Hate Speech in Cyprus
Christos Christofides, chairman of the parliamentary human rights committee, reported that over 1,000 hate comments are posted daily on Cypriot online platforms in Greek. 48 percent of the comments contained Nazi content, 21 percent involved Holocaust denial or distortion, and 11 percent were homophobic. Police appear powerless in combating anonymous hate speech online.
