Police Protection for Former Officials Reduced – Starting October 5
Justice Minister Kostas Fytirys has made a final decision to reduce police protection for certain former and current Cypriot dignitaries. Former Parliament Presidents Yanakis Omirou, Dimitris Syllouris, and Marios Karogiann will lose their two police officers; the wives of two former officials are also affected. The measures take effect from October 5.
