Police requests legal opinion on Drousiotis fundraising collection
Cypriot police have requested a statement from the Legal Service regarding the fundraising collection by journalist and author Makarios Drousiotis for his legal defense costs in a criminal case. The request followed a letter from the head of the Pancyprian Collections Licensing Authority to police. Police is seeking clarity on whether and under what conditions such fundraising collections are permissible.
