Police Union Calls for Legal Changes in Handling Psychiatric Patients
The police union Isotita criticized before parliament's health committee that police officers still apply procedures from the last century when caring for mentally ill patients. Spokesperson Nikos Loizides reported that officers frequently must break down apartment doors to transport patients. The union is calling for modernization of these practices.
