Political confrontation over environmental activists in Parliament
The parliamentary environmental committee became a scene of fierce political disputes between ELAM and AKEL over the activities of environmental organizations such as CABS against poaching. The deputies disagreed on whether the activities constitute violations of criminal law or should be supported as environmental protection.
