Pope Leo celebrated an open-air mass on the Champs-Élysées Avenue in Paris before over 700,000 believers who gathered to witness the historic event. Cries of "Leo, Leo" and "Long live the Pope" echoed along the approximately two-kilometer-long avenue from Place de la Concorde to the Arc de Triomphe.
