Poverty crisis: 167,000 Cypriots live below the poverty line
According to the European statistics agency Eurostat, 167,000 people in Cyprus live below the poverty line, which corresponds to 17.1 percent of the population. These people face daily uncertainty about whether they can afford food. While public discussion is dominated by social media, society appears largely indifferent to this poverty crisis.
