Power Outage in Lakatamia After Cable Damage; Mangli Lake Unsafe
A defect in an underground power cable belonging to Cyprus's Electricity Authority caused power outages on Sunday in several neighborhoods of Lakatamia, including Agios Mamas, Anthoupolis, and the vicinity of the Nicosia Mall shopping center. In parallel, the Lakatamia municipality warned the public about the private Mangli Lake, stating it is dangerous and unsuitable for swimmers, and refuted social media posts that allegedly referenced an official opening.
