Power Outages in Cyprus – Unions Pause Measures
Cyprus's electricity grid operator conducted controlled load shedding in stages on July 22, with each consumer group without power for a maximum of 22 minutes. The power outages became necessary to stabilize the electricity grid. In response to the difficult situation in the power sector, electricity companies AHK announced they would suspend their planned measures until September 2026 to avoid aggravating public hardship.
