Power Storage Subsidies Ended – Storage Heating Rates Increase
Following the liberalization of the electricity market in October 2025, consumers now pay actual energy costs without state redistribution. The government ended subsidization of storage heating electricity rates by the Electricity Authority (EAK) on May 1, 2026, a decision that had already been established in 2017 by the regulatory authority RATEC.
