Prehistoric Giant Squid was Top Predator of the Oceans
New scientific findings suggest that a gigantic octopus named Nanaimoteuthis haggarti was one of the most feared predators of the seas in ancient times. The creature competed with powerful marine reptiles such as mosasaurs for the top position in the food chain of prehistoric oceans. Researchers have found evidence for the existence of this cephalopod, which was approximately 18 meters in size.
