President Halts Solar Power Compensation Law Over Constitutional Concerns
President Nikos Christodoulides has returned a law passed in March to compensate households and small businesses for excess solar power to parliament. The bill, introduced by DIKO lawmaker Michalis Giakoumis, would have obligated the Council of Ministers to set compensation rates for electricity fed into the grid. The president argues constitutional concerns against this regulation.
