Private Debt Levels Fall by Two-Thirds
Private household debt in Cyprus has declined dramatically since 2012, reducing to approximately one-third of its previous level. This positive development marks one of the most important economic transformations of the last three decades, following rapid growth in bank lending from the mid-1990s until the 2008 financial crisis.
