Protests Against Transmission Towers at British Air Force Base Akrotiri
On August 8, residents of Akrotiri organized a protest action against the British air force base and demanded the removal of transmission towers. Organized by the Kourio municipal council and the movement 'Akrotiri Ora Midon' as well as citizen initiatives, demonstrators expressed their concerns about health risks.
