Pythagoreans Failed with Political Experiment in Ancient Greece
The followers of Pythagoras, known for their mathematical and mystical teachings, attempted to apply their philosophy to the politics of Greek cities in southern Italy in the 6th and 5th centuries BCE. These attempts to establish Pythagorean communities in cities such as Croton, Metapontum, and Tarentum ultimately led to chaotic results.
