Researchers Defend Greater Age of Monte Verde Site in Chile
Two research groups assert that the archaeological site Monte Verde in Chile was inhabited by ancient hunters and gatherers approximately 14,500 years ago, following another study that proposed a much younger age. This discrepancy has significant implications for understanding the original settlement of the Americas, as the Bachtal site in southern Chile is being examined.
