Researchers discover ancient DNA sequences that shape human language
A new study shows that human language emerged from ancient genetic systems that predate modern humans. Researchers at the University of Iowa led by Jacob Michaelson examined how various DNA regions relate to language abilities and discovered that some of the most important gene segments relevant to language belong to the oldest parts of the human genome.
