Sahara dust causes increased patient numbers in Cypriot hospitals
The increase of dust in the atmosphere led to a rise in patient visits to emergency departments and hospital admissions in Cyprus. The state health service (OKYPPY) is registering increased cases of respiratory problems, bronchial asthma, and allergic reactions. Special measures have been initiated to address the additional need for hospital beds.
