Savers Harmed in 2013 Now Owe the State Attorney Fees
The savers who lost savings through the 2013 capital reduction must now additionally pay attorney fees to the state. A relief fund was established to compensate savers, but paradoxically, these savers now owe the state fees in return. The 2013 capital reduction had brought the Cypriot economy to the brink of catastrophe and ruined numerous businesses and families.
