Scientist allowed himself to be bitten by 200 venomous snakes
58-year-old American Tim Friede from Wisconsin deliberately allowed himself to be bitten by some of the world's deadliest snake species hundreds of times over nearly two decades. This extreme self-exposure was part of a scientific research initiative to better understand snake venom. Friede acted under the risk of severe or fatal injuries and had to contend with public accusations of recklessness.
